Subject: Mose Scarlett From: Zipster Date: 15 Feb 02 - 08:06 AM I have tried various stores to try and get an album of this guy having heard him a couple of times on the radio. I think he was in Scotland doing one of the festivals. No-one seems to have heard of him anywhere I ask and couldn't find anything on catalogue. I looked in Amazon, UK only has one album Fundamental Things, which at £17 is too rich for my blood for someone that I've only heard a couple of tracks from, for all that they were excellent. Does anyone know of any other sources for MS albums, or indeed any other albums? thanks Roger |

Subject: RE: Help: Mose Scarlett From: GUEST,Dan in Nova Scotia Date: 15 Feb 02 - 08:41 AM You can find Mose Scarlett on the Borealis web site here in Canada. They distribute many Canadian folk artists and it is run by several people including Paul Mills who produced Stan Rogers' albumns as well as another Stan Link Grit Lasking, who also records, and who made Stan's guitars. Anyway, here's the link to Mose http://www.borealisrecords.com/Artists/mose_scarlett.htm Good Luck. Cheers, Dan Link by Clickies-R-Us. --JoeClone |

Subject: RE: Help: Mose Scarlett From: Rick Fielding Date: 15 Feb 02 - 10:45 AM Here's a bit of a funny story. A few weeks ago heather and I were visiting Mose and the missus, and I sat down with him at the computer. Mose knows a LOT about computer stuff and I know virtually nuthin'....but...he'd never "looked himself up" on Google. He was truly amazed at how many references their were. I believe he found a bunch of reviews he's was unaware of (generally from UK concerts) and was havin' a ball with it when we left. Cheers Rick |
Subject: RE: Help: Mose Scarlett From: M.Ted Date: 15 Feb 02 - 11:29 AM Was Leon Redbone there, too? Just curious-- |
Subject: RE: Help: Mose Scarlett From: GUEST,JohnB Date: 15 Feb 02 - 12:14 PM You should have asked last week. We had Mose, Jackie Washington and Ken Whiteley up in Orangeville for a HAMS (Headwaters Acoustic Music Society)Concert. I was selling his CD's. The best deal was a triple Boxed set, containing one of each artist for $40 Can. They are normally $20 each. JohnB |
Subject: RE: Help: Mose Scarlett From: Zipster Date: 15 Feb 02 - 12:40 PM I'm talking to people who KNOW Mose Scarlett? This is the weirdest place... Part of my problem was I had encountered two mis-spellings of the man's name, Scarlet and Scarret, which didn't help searching. I have now done some searching but still haven't come a cross too many CD's this side of the pond. Given that you have this level of insight can I ask Rick Fielding or anyone else if they would recommend any particular album? £17 is a lot of money but I'd be happy to trust it on that level of personal recommendation. |
Subject: RE: Help: Mose Scarlett From: Rick Fielding Date: 15 Feb 02 - 05:29 PM Hi Zipster. Well Mose is one of my bestest friends in the world, so I'm not gonna reccommend one album over the other (he looks in here from time to time) but I'd say that anything Borealis (I'm with them too) carries is gonna be enjoyable. That's my last commercial for them, ha ha! Nope Ted, Leon's a long ways away. Rick |
Subject: RE: Help: Mose Scarlett From: GUEST,Zipster without cookie Date: 17 Feb 02 - 11:53 AM Thanks ever so. I haven't heard anything of yours to date, I only heard Mose on the radio because he was doing festival, but I will surely check you both out. You know,"any friend of Mose", and all that. You can let Mose know that his foreign travels have gained at least one convert, and I'm sure many more. Thanks again R |
