Hi folks. Is there anyone of ye who knows the lyrics of Déanta's version of Willie Taylor? I did find out some lyrics, but apparenlty they're quite different from Déanta setting's ones. Any help'll be appreciated Thanks in advance Bye Davide

Judging from that clip, the Voice Squad's version is quite close: click and scroll

Thanks, nutty, for the link. I've seen the illustration in Dugaw's book (Dianne Dugaw, Warrior Women and Popular Balladry 1650-1850, Cambridge UP, 1989, discussed pp. 73-75 and elsewhere).

"Willie Taylor" is a variant of "William Taylor" (Laws N11). Lyrics and info are:

BILLY TAYLOR in the DT.

William Taylor... (with several versions); The Voice Squad version transcribed there is, as Wolfgang says, the one asked for.

William Taylor (with another version from Sharp's book).
