I looked for all of your requests and found nothing except a squib about the singer. Sorry. Maybe Aine or Big Mick (they have the Gaelic) can be more help.

The song is "Ní Fheicfear Níos Mó Thú, a Mhuirnín." (I'll see you no more, my darling.)
Popular in and around N.W Donegal. Recorded in recent years by more than one singer, but I think the best version has always been that sung and recorded by Conall Ó Gallchóir "Condaí Mhary Mhicí" from Rannafast, Co. Donegal. It's on his latest CD/Tape "Ar Imeall an Chuain".

Oh. The melody is the same as Stephen Foster's Gentle Annie. (I think he swiped it)Euguen O'Donnell recorded it as a slow air on Slow Airs and Set Dances, Green Linnet.

Thanks Sorcha. It may be that the tune was borrowed from Foster, rather than the other way about.(?) Gearóidín Neidí Frainc says that her father recited Ní fheicfear Níos Mó Thú as poetry.
error corrections - you can see one line break omitted. First word of second line, first verse should read "Tá". "Mó" in the chorus should be lower case, "mó"
