Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Old scout song From: vectis Date: 28 Mar 02 - 05:33 PM Saw two guys perform this one at a folk club about 30 years ago. Laughed so much I almost had to be hospitalised. The tune is Old MacDonalds farm basically. Make up verses as you will. eg The bulls were bulling it the cocks were cocking it etc. be imaginative and have fun. |
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Old scout song From: greg stephens Date: 28 Mar 02 - 09:22 PM The version I recall is: I be a farmer's boy/And a farmer's boy be I/And I looks after my master's sheep/ And the rams are ramming here/and the rams are ramming ther/here a ramming there a ramming/ramming everywhere Chorus: To plough and sow and reap and mow/ To be a farmer's boy/To be afarmer's boy... then carry on with chickens/cocking and any other mild obscenities that spring to mind.Tune sort of drifts from Old Mcdonald via stoke hornpipe to farmers boy |
