Subject: Double Posting From: Steve in Wisconsin Date: 07 Apr 98 - 06:52 PM Hi- Anybody have any idea why my last couple of postings have been listed twice in threads-even though I sent them only once? Thanks Steve |
Subject: RE: Double Posting From: Jon W. Date: 07 Apr 98 - 07:11 PM This is a common problem. Typically what happens is you post a message, and then hit your browser's "reload" button after a while to refresh the threads screen. For some reason this causes a double posting. Instead, just hit the "Show Threads" button on the main forum page again to refresh the threads. |
Subject: RE: Double Posting From: Date: 07 Apr 98 - 07:30 PM THE MSIE browser DON'T have a SHOW THREADS button..only a REFRESH button....'ZAT da same? If I forget to GO BACK and CLEAR the POSTED MESSAGE, it DOUBLE POSTS everytime! |

Subject: RE: Double Posting From: Jon W. Date: 08 Apr 98 - 11:40 AM The "Show Threads" button isn't on your browser, be it Nescape, MSIE, or anything else. It's on the forum page. I would guess that the Refresh button on MSIE is the same as the Reload button on Netscape. Either one will cause a double posting. |
Subject: RE: Double Posting From: Steve Date: 08 Apr 98 - 07:52 PM Thanks all for your help. I indeed was hitting Reload on my browser (as opposed to hitting the tail on my bowser?). Anyways, it's good to know that you can turn to the Folk community for help and...well...support. Reminds me of one of my favorite New Grass Revival tunes-actually my theme song: "Can't Stop Now" "...I might be heading for a breakdown, but I can't stop now..." Remember-senility is a terrible thing to waste. Cheers! :-) Steve |
Subject: RE: Double Posting From: Bill D Date: 08 Apr 98 - 10:49 PM *remembering when my Netscape broke last year, and I had to use MSIE for 6 weeks or so...it double posted, ran slowly...refused to find the place I left when I returned to a list...arrrgghhh...I was so glad to get Netscape fixed!!! |
