This is such a funny song. We just listened to it at supper on my partner's tablet. I want to send an MP3 of it to my father and to a friend who is part of a hi-fi group - I think it will amuse them. My ancestors lived near Killaloe Station and Sudbury, so the above comment makes me think of them.

Teamwork is based on a true story. An employee (Dave Field) says it's written about his grandparents who used to run the Gardiner Ferry north of Cochrane, Ontario.

Quoted from the liner notes...

"8. Teamwork (2:45:) Music traditional, words C James Gordon, published by SGB."

So the melody for the lyrics, I have to say I don't know...

fun song though eh...

;-)

Thanks Clinton. Another great Tamarack song.

About "music trad": they use the trad tune Redwing before and after singing, but the melody of the actual song isn't the Redwing tune; is it to another trad tune?

Marion

TEAMWORK

Music trad, lyrics by James Gordon

Oh my wife she gets up early and she goes to milk the cow
Feeds the pigs, collects the eggs, and then she works behind the plow
Bakes the bread, churns the cream
And then she hauls it to the dairy
And me I get up late and saunter off to run the ferry

Oh it's teamwork, I couldn't make it on my own
It takes teamwork to farm in North Ontario

While I'm sitting on my ferryboat upon the river shore
She takes the dogteam into town to pick supplies up at the store
She does the washing ironing clears the fields
In the winter sets the traps
And when I get home she makes me dinner
While I take a nap

Oh it's teamwork, I couldn't make it on my own
It takes teamwork to farm in North Ontario

;-)

Subject: Teamwork (possibly Tamarack)

Hi all. I'm looking for lyrics to the comic song "Teamwork" that I've heard on a Tamarack album; I'm not sure if it's an original of theirs.

The chorus goes: "Oh it's teamwork, I couldn't make it on my own, it takes teamwork to farm in North Ontario."

Thanks, Marion
