This site has, or I should say "had", a link to a page where you could purchase authentic "Mississippi Delta Blues Dirt", soil collected from someone's yard on Highway 61. I had read about this in a local paper some time back. The were selling small jars of dirt for $15.00. With it, you would also get a certificate of authenticity!!

Apparently, it did not sell to well, because it isn't found on the web anymore.

However, It got my idle mind to thinking! Maybe I can go to Mississippi John Hurt's homeplace in Carroll County, grab a few shovelfulls and sell authentic HURT DIRT.

Hell, I'd sell it cheap, mmmm, maybe $2.00 a jar (plus s&h). I could make a killing! Of course, I could earmark, say, 25% to the Mudcat Cafe (to show that I am not a greedy bastard!)(Also, it would ingratiate me with the Mudcat PTB and guarantee that one on my songs would be included on the Mudcat CD!)

Yes, a grand idea! But why stop there? I could go to Muddy Water's home and bottle some water, mix it with a little Hurt Dirt and have Authentic Muddy Waters' Muddy Waters!!

Any takers??

Great idea, but you should spell it "Hurt Durt".

Well no wonder it didn't sell, it wasn't competitive with a clearly superior product Junior's Graveyard Dirt sold by a genuine low volume seller. Junior.

I agree completely Doctor Rolphyboy. Junior's authentic Graveyard Dirt has mojo qualities far exceeding any exhibited by the cheap imitators. Accept no imitations! Ask for it by name!
