How many 'catters are heading for Whitby next Friday? We are going and the duck mobile will hopefull be as close to the food tent as is humanly possible. The idea being to fall out of the tent in the early hours and straight into the caravan although I think I got that the wrong way round last year :-) !!

Maggie and I will be there as usual. We're looking forward to seeing all our friends in the Tap 'n' Spile and the Endeavour, and to getting Mrs Duck's recommendations about 'falling down water'.

Waterdragon and significant other will also be in attendance this coming weekend.

The kids are away at scout camp in an entirely different neck of the woods so i's going to be wonderful.

See you all in the Tap!

Harpmaker:

Camping at main venue (a local college) just as you come into the town from Pickering/Tees-side direction. For best info see Mrs Duck's post 29/4, 1.07pm for M&C website.

Hoping to see lots of catters there, PLENTY of mud in the harbour.

Why no food? Where do we get supper and ribald revelry late at night? What's going on?

How can you have a Moor and Coast festival without the food tent!!! Is there something we should know? Our main reason for going is the after hours fun in the tent when small people have been put away for the night!

My thoughts exactly Mrs D! However, the latest is (and this is from the horse's mouth) that the M&C tent WILL be on site but not serving food. They can't get their occasional staff on this particular weekend, and the regular staff are too busy elsewhere in the festival. "Another food outlet" will be available for breakfast; sandwiches, tea & coffee available at the bar. The bar's being run by the Endeavour pub, inside the College main building. I don't know if they'll have an outside service or not.

So at least we can keep under cover for the sessions! Ian

No doubt if Glen puts the boiler on and leaves us a supply of tea/coffee we could fend for ourselves and be honest enough to put the money in the till for him!!

We'll just have to do without the butties :-((((((

Geoff and I will be there - my 1st Moor & Coast festival. Definitely see you all in the Endeavour as we're staying there. (I suppose that means lots of Jamieson's - it's a hard life!) Where are the best singarounds? Ali

Singarounds are usually in the Tap 'n' Spile (front room)and in the Endeavour, but we will start one anywhere really. The 'best' singaround is probably the one that I'm not in!

Really sorry it's not possible to be in Upton and Whitby at the same time. Look out for Horwich Prize Medal Morris - great guys and not bad dancers as well!

Hi, Had a great weekend at Moor & Coast, for me the highlights were the Mr Fox procession, Sheffield Giants, Jez Lowe, Mrs Ackroyd Band, Sharon Fountain, Stewart Hardy & George Welch, the lows, loosing my clip on electronic tuner, (anyone seen it? possibly in the 'shower session'), lack of food on site.
One or two photo's on our web site www.bothyfolkclub.co.uk (look on the news page) Cheers Les

The shower sessions managed to compensate for the lack of food tent. Great atmosphere - I just had to dance!! Sorry we didn't get to the Endeavour but we did stick our head in briefly at the Tap and Spile - looking forward to the next one now.

Well the campsite showers certainly have great acoustics, but I really missed the tea and bacon butties this year. Even so, the music, and the company, made the late-night session a memorable experience - first time I've ever heard "Shepherd of the Downs" sung on roller skates!

See y'all in August,

Wassail!
