Does any have a banjo tab (pref. 2-finger or clawhammer) for Devil's Dream? I've looked and can't find one. Thanks for any help.

Chip and Tish

I have a couple of clawhammer versions in "A" I could send you. I don't know what level of difficulty your interested in, these are fairly advanced. PM me your email address and I'll send you a file with my arrangements of this tune. Include what type of graphic format you'd prefer (giff, jpg, pict, ect.)

Blue Sage,

Thanks, I guess I need more help than I touught! I don't know how to PM you and I don't know what is meant by graphic format. My e-mail is godscountry4u@hotmail.com Advanced level is okay. I could also give you my snail mail address if that would help. Let me know. And thanks so much for your help.

Sorcha and Norton 1,

I went to the hangout but I couldn't understand the symbols they had in place of tab. Maybe this is where the "graphic format" comes in? Also, I think they are in 3-finger Scruggs style.

Thanks, everyone, this is a great place.

Chip

Guest, ChipA -

You have to "be a member" to send a PM (Personal Message).

If you click on the "membership" link at the top of the Discussion page, you can sign up quickly. About all that is asked is name and email address - and you make up a password.

Once you're a member, the "Quick Links" box includes "send a personal message." This lets you send info to one other member, without "sharing" it with the whole mudcat world.

The "graphic format" means "what kind of picture files can you see." Most Windows machines will have some kind of program that will display bitmaps (.bmp) tagged image (.tif) etc files, but sometimes there's a problem in exchanging things - if you don't happen to have the "right" program to display what someone sends you.

John

I doubt this is much help, but it's all I found other than the one you can't read:
Mando tab.
Fiddle tab
Flatpick guitar tab.
Chords in Gmaj Why G major I have no idea.
I also have no idea why a straight tab is not online somewhere. Perhaps just because it is in all the books and you are supposed to buy a book........?

Chip,

I've got your email address from this thread so you won't have to worry about sending a personal message. I'll attach files of the tabs in a variety of formats and hopefully your will be able to open one of more of them.

Good Luck....Mike

Sorry about that last message. It was meant to read:

"I copied your email address from this thread so you won't have to worry about sending a personal message. I'll attach files of the tabs in a variety of formats and hopefully you will be able to open one or more of them."

My brain wasn't engaged as I was writing the original post!

Sorcha...Thanks, the chords link you provided led me to a slow midi which will be a big help. In fact, the whole site looks great! Lots of good stuff there to dig through. I think 3 finger, bluegrass style tabs can be found. This is a somewhat difficult tune and I haven't heard a lot of old time banjo pickers do it. I have access to lots of books and cant find it there either. I did PM BlueSage so maybe he'll get back in touch.

The help and response means a lot....thanks everyone

I didn't think it was all that difficult, chip. It's not on fiddle, anyway. It's practically everybody's first tune.......want me to check with my banjo players and see if they have a clawhammer tab for it? I could scan and e mail if what Sage has doesn't work out.......

I just got a great tab from BlueSage. Sorcha, if you do come accross a tab, I'd love to see it. More tabs, more ideas! Thanks everyone for your help. Now let's pick....
