I am a picture and rights editor and have been asked to get permission to use "Ode to the Four Letter Word" but have not been able to figure out who wrote this. Is it a folk song? Any clue would be helpful. Thanks.

it's included in :

'Bawdy Ballads & Dirty Ditties of the Wartime RAF'
ISBN 1-873203-69-1
Saucy Songs and Rude Recitations of Wartime Airmen

And though undocumented - in another thread it was mentioned that it had been seen attributed to A. P. Herbert

We have ordered that book but there's been a delay in receiving it. I'll follow up on the A. P. Herbert tip. Thanks.
