Subject: When Bush becomes more than embarrassing From: Donuel Date: 25 Jun 02 - 06:43 PM A hypothetical:
When the 10 meter asteroid struck west of Beijing
Their urgent message to the White House;
Within fifteen minutes China launched against the US.

Subject: RE: When Bush becomes more than embarrassing From: Murray MacLeod Date: 25 Jun 02 - 06:56 PM If Donuel had been a British Mudcatter, I would have assumed he had just returned from the pub (11.45 pm here) Since he is American, he does not have that excuse. It is all very disturbing ... Murray |

Subject: RE: When Bush becomes more than embarrassing From: Donuel Date: 25 Jun 02 - 07:40 PM Doug, humor in the form of a hypothetical can still be seriously funny stuff. How dangerous may one be in the growing repression on the cat? I would rather people answer the first Bush question but here is another piece with a catchy tune; Born in the USA But Ashcroft decided that I can't stay I was trucked to an army base and put away I tell em I was
Born in the USA
Here in New Jersey behind bars of rust
cuz I was Born in the USA
The tribunals refusal
Born in the USA
Some lost thier visa on that fateful day
cuz I was
Born in the USA
-Shaduup you filthy rag heads-
(whispering) i was born in the usa

While they were on thier moon
When their moon was shattered
For years they were marooned
With courage and luck and grace of God
Repairs were finally done
They came to Earth in a mighty ship
a paradise fierce and fun
Common chords of DNA
joined the orphans and Earth people
We both survived through great deaths
like the Scarab beetle
When we became quite unlike
our former combinate selves
the new survivors then arrived
So small we all called them elves.
Extremely wise with compromise
Our race combined as three
With the universe expanding
The pure bred elves flew free
Of all the people on the Earth
the ones we see today
are again unlike our former selves
We are predator and prey
History left a monument
We built the Pyramid
Of all our former combinations
They're the most lucid

Subject: RE: When Bush becomes more than embarrassing From: Bobert Date: 25 Jun 02 - 09:45 PM And back to the giant asteroid. Well, after 17 years, or whatever its been, that alcoholic Dubya, Jr. figured out that he is an alcoholic, he's sittin' around the White House with nothin' to do as per usual. Laura has gone to bed and there's Junior wonderin' what to do next. Normal, right. Well, he wonders what it would be like to just have a nip or two.... or seven. I mean, forget that wagon thing. "I'm the President!" and on about his 8 or 18th nip (who's countin) the call comes in from China. Hmmmmmmm? Now the Bobert is real scared. Junior forgets that he's not 'sposed to play with sharp objects or talk to asteroided Chinese folks. He forgets that his presidency is a rule by committe and corprate board rooms and, well, having just downed his 19th nip, or so, he's on the yellow phone talking with the asteroided Chinese folks who haven't had 19 nips, but one big asteroid ruin their night.... Hmmmmmmmm? Now the bobert's gettin' real scared. First of all, ya got an unelected drunk at the wheel, who has never really held down a job for more that a year or two and HE"S talking to the asteroided Chinese on the yellow phone..... Danged, no make that double danged. Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: When Bush becomes more than embarrassing From: Mark Cohen Date: 25 Jun 02 - 11:22 PM No, Ozmacca, he said seven half brothers and sisters. That means 3 1/2 sibs. Aloha, Mark |
Subject: RE: BS: When Bush becomes more than embarrassing From: GUEST Date: 25 Jun 02 - 11:27 PM Is that an imperial sib or U.S. standard sib? And which is the one which is slightly smaller than the metric sib? And anyway, is Donuel aware that his family has been reduced in the interests of grammatical comprehension? Will this lead to more poetry?..... I'm sorry, that should have read "Will this lead to poetry?" |

Subject: RE: BS: When Bush becomes more than embarrassing From: Nigel Parsons Date: 26 Jun 02 - 05:07 AM Murray: I can't see what you are referring to as "should have been a Clerihew". Just as a sonnet has 14 lines, a limerick 5, a Clerihew is a verse form describing some particular person in 4 lines. For an overview of a Clerihew (and how's that for an internal rhyme?) see This Page Cheers Nigel |
