For those that don't already know, the local band Blind Lemons's Hot Five (ex Marlborough Club, Chanterlands Avenue), have a new venue at The Tap & Spile,Spring Bank and are playing their first gig there at 9 PM tonight, and then every Thursday.Admission is free, go and support them if you can and keep music live, I know when they were playing at The Marlborough, there were usually a few catters there, including harpmaker, rambling rose etc, so if you are in the area, pop in and you might get to meet a few local catters.

I wen't to see them it was really good, there was a man with a washboard there ( Brian) and two trumpets a banjo and a really big massive violin, it was so big he was standing it on the floor to play it! I think it is called skuffle music and blues etc.

I'm beginning to suspect you are an unreconstructed punk, John, punching Oakley's lights out, and now declaring your love of skuffle music. Could Oakley fit this really big violin that sits on the floor snugly into Geoffrey the boil? I woulnd't fancy nicking chips off the fella that does tuck it under his chin. Was he there?
