Does anybody know where I can get the sheet music or midi file for the song General Taylor? It is one of my favourite sea shanties.

Er, "some" lyrics are in the DT, Masato. Many other variants can be found in SHANTIES OF THE SEVEN SEAS by Stan Hugill (and other sea shanty books), still availble from Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, CT.

Various versions can be found via Google (it would be easier to find them by putting in "Walk him along, John").

An MP3 recording is at the two Polish sites (the same recording).

GENERAL TAYLOR (Click on the "radio").

GENERAL TAYLOR (Click on the "ear").

You can always buy a copy of Stan Hugills "Shanties from the Seven Seas" then you would have the sheet music and lyrics to HUNDREDS. Got my copy in England for £15:95, but Mystic Seaport does sell the book Stateside or from their website.
