Subject: Folk Songs on Pocket PC E-books From: GUEST,Clansfolk Date: 25 Jul 02 - 04:54 PM Does anyone know of any Folk Song books in e-book format for a pocket PC? Someone must have done one or two by now - |

We have the DT on our Libretto's, but I have not had the nerve to bring it to a sing. I still print out subsets of the DT that are bulkier and heavier to sing from. |

But it is handy, just thought a song book might have been put together - in ebook format - so I could replace my current ebook with it..... really should make one meself I supose.... |

Subject: RE: Folk Songs on Pocket PC E-books From: Dave Bryant Date: 26 Jul 02 - 05:25 AM I've got an HP JORNADO 520 with 15mb on board and a 128mb CompactFlash expansion card. I have the words of nearly 200 songs (Pocket Word) plus an Excel database of Keys, Starting Notes etc. I've also downloaded an excellent MIDI file player and have quite a collection of tunes for it. Unless a version of AskSam is available for Pocket Windows, I don't think it would be possible to load the DT onto a PDA - Susan's Libretto is a tiny, but standard PC running normal windows rather than CE. It's easy enough to copy/paste lyrics from DT or elsewhere into WORD documents and tranfer these to your PDA, though. For those people with PALM OS, WORDSMITH is a very nice little WP program that even has an MS WORD add-on to allow you to transfer documents from your main PC. I even use my JORNADO with my NOKIA 6210 to get onto MUDCAT sometimes ! |
Subject: RE: Folk Songs on Pocket PC E-books From: Susan of DT Date: 26 Jul 02 - 07:07 PM Consider text files rather than word, since they are much smaller. Make your own selection of favorates from the DT and elsewhere (send us those favorates from elsewhere that are not in the DT). I used to cruise the whole database when producing a new book, but that was much easier 10 years ago: I don't do it anymore and probably miss lots of lovely songs. |
