that's always happening to me. If it's doing that, I just leave completely when I've reset my cookie without trying to access anything, and then come back into Mudcat, Then it's generally all right (for a while!)

E mail or PM Joe Offer or Pene Azul. They'll help you. Their e mails are probably on the Help forum; if not they are in Member E mails under Member Info and Photos in the Quick Links pull down menu.

Mariner.....if u are running any kind of 'washer' to erase something that u have looked at that is a bit 'unsavoury'.....it will erase your Mudcat cookie.I'm only human but I hang my head in shame..and am not saying who I am.... Having just run my washer....lol

Mariner, you might want to completely clean out all your cookies (see the FAQ for instructions) and then try to re-set. Sometimes you get a corrupt cookie and even though you try to reset, Mudcat will NOT over-write the bad cookie.

You probably tried clicking on "Refresh" or "Reload" when you went to the main forum page.

You can post in the Help Forum as well.

Login instructions are here (click) in the FAQ. If you have reset your cookie and are still having problems, I recommend the "purge" that I detailed in the FAQ instructions - logout from Mudcat, close all browser windows but one, and clear your browser cache and history.

Mariner -

If you're using IE, check under Tools, Internet Options, on the General Tab, In the "Temporary Internet Files" section, click on the "Settings" button, and on the page that pops up click the top choice "Check for newer versions of stored pages" on every visit to page.

With any of the other settings, it's possible for your machine to "remember" what the page looked like when you first connected (when you didn't have your cookie), and to continue to show you what it downloaded then - even though you've changed what should be shown.

If you're using some other browser - you're on your own, although there probably is a similar setting in most of them.

John
