Hello, I haven't been very vocal on the 'cat recently as my email access has been sporadic to say the least but hopefully I will be around a bit more. The real reason for this ramble (and yes I'm rambling alot!) is that i will shortly (end of this week) be moving to Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire and was wondering who else was in the area. I know some peeps in the area as my other half (who I'm moving in with) grew up in the area so has loads of mates there but I was wondering if anyone here was form there. I'll hopefully be attending some folk sessions (got them in another thread) so see you there.

Charlie

I work in Stevenage and lodge locally Mon. to Thurs. A poor fiddle player and worse with computers. Can you direct me to that session link?

I'm so far out to the West I do most of my singing in Bucks (Berkhamsted and Chesham respectively).

Tudor Folk Club and a couple of singarounds detailed on my site

. But loads of good stuff around the area. You need to check out the Hitchin club if you like big names. Also see My Gurur Always Said's thread about Baldock.

I expect McGrath'll br along soon to tell you about his site which has loads of links in your (new) area. Welcome!

Breezy runs a club in St Albans that I keep meaning to visit but still haven't. PM him if he doesn't post, he may be away.
The Bell at Benington has a great session on (usually) the third Tuesday of each month.
We have a session every Monday at the White Horse in Hertford which can be very good, but this is holiday month. I wont be around until Sept.
Hope to see you sometime,
Keith.

efn Magazine links to all the clubs down the eastern half of Herts. Pick up a copy of Unicorn magazine at one(no web site) for sessions and the rest of the county.

Thanks for the info on sessions and all - I'd also just really like to know how many catters there are in the area. Maybe meet up with a few.

Thanks

Charlie

As Hamish presciently said, here I am, and here's a link to a page on my site which has a fair amount of stuff about local folk music happening on both sides of the Essex Herts line. (Not as well kept-up-to-date as it should be I'm afraid.)
