Can anyone tell me when he's supposed to play Saturday? I am trying desperately to make it out to see them, if for only a brief bit.

almost everything there happens from 8ish to 11ish..so I suppose that's when it will be. I will see if I can find out how many sets..and exactly when,,,

as Chance posted in another thread, starting time is 9:00...come early to get a seat close, as there is no sound system..(and many folks arrive there to eat, having no idea music is planned...and often are not interested in toning down their conversations to accomidate..*grin*)

How I know it well, BillD. Shanty sings there can be hellatious for hearing (if you're trying to listen, anyway).

Aaargh this has happened before.... for those of us on the other side of the pond can you put something in the thread title next time to identify which Royal Mile you mean, because not unnaturally I assumed it was the original Royal Mile, otherwise known as the High Street in Edinburgh! Whereas you really mean a pub somewhere on the eastern seaboard of the USA, yes?

Yes, they're referring to a pub in Maryland, near Washington D.C. USA where one of your own (Greg Stephens) is to perform.

As the person who named and started this thread, I extend my apologies for the confusion.

I will add though that people on both sides of the pond (and from all ends of the US and Canada, parts of which might as well be an ocean way) do this. I have gone into various threads that do not make it clear what the location of events are. As a for instance, an event in the UK was marked only with the name "Easton", but there's one over here near Annapolis as well.

I usually just figure it out in context and go my own way. And what the hey...in the end, I learn a little more each time. But that's me.
