Subject: Playing on my son's CD From: Leeder Date: 18 Aug 02 - 09:45 AM My son's neoCeltic band The Buccaneers have a prerelease sampler containing three songs from their upcoming CD. They've got the old man playing banjo on one of them. They're selling it for $5.00 (Canadian). More information will be on their website at bucc.ca . |
Subject: RE: Playing on my son's CD From: Clinton Hammond Date: 18 Aug 02 - 09:53 AM Didn't they used to do a song that sorta went... "Heave away, haul away to the wind and sea Sailing to Alberta something something something..." Their T-shirt is still nailed to the wall of the stage at The Elephants Nest in Chatham... First time I saw them was at The Sandwich Mill in Windsor... Heath (Who now owns The Kildare House) still has their CD in the pub rotation from time to time... They were a DAMN good band a few years ago... I can only imagine how good they must be now! Get the CD folks... you won't be disappointed! |

Subject: RE: Playing on my son's CD From: Leeder Date: 20 Aug 02 - 11:45 PM Yeah, they do Prairie Shanty (written by Rick Scott), also the title of their first CD. The second one (for which this is a prerelease) is "Basement Monkey". |
Subject: RE: Playing on my son's CD From: Leeder Date: 21 Aug 02 - 01:31 AM I wrote the last message just after getting home from a camping trip, a bit buzzed. So I neglected to say "thanks" for the kind words. I'm sure the boys echo this. I'm also a bit distracted because I pick up my own first CD tomorrow. (Don't worry, I'll let you know about it.) |
Subject: RE: Playing on my son's CD From: Clinton Hammond Date: 21 Aug 02 - 03:18 AM Heh! Neat parallel... My bass man showed up to rehearsal tonight wearing a Buccaneers T-shirt! It's the same T-shirt as I mentioned being stapled to the wall above... I got a pic of it if ya wanna see it... Tell the boys in the band that John from Beatnicks in Chatham says "HI!" I'm still after that song BTW... ,-) |
