Newfoundland accordion virtuoso Frank Maher has recieved an award at the Celtic Folk Festival in Goderiche Ontario for dedication to Newfoundland traditional music.
The Ernie King Tradition Bearer Award.

That's all I could find as well Kat.The St John's Telegram aug 25 had a full page on the auld devil.It was in the "Backstage" section so I don't know if that would be in the online Tele.
If you enter Frank Maher in Google you will get more than you'll ever want to know about him and his Mahers Bahers.ljc
