Subject: Spaw OK??? From: InOBU Date: 27 Aug 02 - 05:53 PM I haven't seen a post from you, old Pal, perhaps just haven't noticed... Everything Ok, Spaw??? Larry |
Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: Roger in Baltimore Date: 27 Aug 02 - 06:41 PM Well, he can't possibly be OK. This post has hung around for two hours without a reply. Obviously no one cares. Seriously, he might be on vacation or something. Taking the family on a trip. Roger in Baltimore |

Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: SINSULL Date: 27 Aug 02 - 07:46 PM He posted recently to the Dainty Davey thread. Probably set him back a year or two. Perhaps we should revive that tried and true movie thread, "Songcatcher". Anyone have the sound track? |

Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: katlaughing Date: 27 Aug 02 - 11:21 PM Spaw is fine, busy with 3D life, and not finding much of interest here, as he said in an earlier thread. I just had an email from him today and spoke to him last week. |
Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: katlaughing Date: 27 Aug 02 - 11:25 PM Spaw said: It's mainly because I'm bored stiff with the level of drivel. We used to have a lot of fun with meaningless bullshit that flowed through the folk music but it's dropped off to a level that cannot even be considered mildly amusing. Pissing around with these simple ass guest trolls is boring as hell and completely lame (as they are) so I'm thinking of attending some Shatner classes to start a new program in conjunction with the NYCFTTS. |
Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: InOBU Date: 27 Aug 02 - 11:30 PM KAT'mdear! Tell Spaw I am greatly relieved, I was going to hop a Greyhound, and knock on his door at 4 in the morning, to make sure he was OK. I am happy to hear he's well and happy. Cheers Larry |
Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: khandu Date: 27 Aug 02 - 11:56 PM Senor Spaw is not okay. Never has been, never will be. Aside from the fact that he is, er, uh,(how shall I put this?), not so well-endowed; he has also become acutely aware that his Jubilee, the Barrister joke which he has told umpteen times, has grown stale. As has his Mississippi jokes. But the hardest blow he has been dealt was dealt by Little Hawk, when, in spite of much opposition (and shall I say, much panic by Spaw?), L.H. managed to create our new Mudcat Icon, namely, the Great Man, William Shatner! These are hard times for our beloved Spaw. We must all offer a moment of silence in honor of our favorite gaseous Ahian, trusting that his beleaguered ego shall somehow rise above his shame, and that once again, His Flatulence shall return in full regalia! This place don't make sense to me no more! Can you tell me what we're waiting for, Senor? khandu

Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: The Pooka Date: 28 Aug 02 - 02:26 AM Gargoyle, d'ye know I've got a photo of me contemplating your lovely visage at Notre Dame? The Cathedral, not the University. Glad yer still on the job warding off them oul' evil spirits.../ Hurraw fer the Spaw!! Relieved to hear he's OK. Understand his boredom, God knows I'm a big Contributor; but still: "Heeeeeere, Yeller! **Come back, Yeller**! Best doggone dog in the West..." I tried to bait him a couple times lately (he might wanna look at the Sea-Cats with Extra Toes thread, some fool mentioned something about a Chantey concerning their Paws), to no Avail. Still-a he walks these hills, inna long-a black-a Veil...we miss you, Mr Spaw. We do. Recharge us with your wisdom. Speak to us from out the Mouth of Truth. Come along home, Cindy Cindy. Tell us we all have small dicks. :) |

Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: Amos Date: 28 Aug 02 - 11:01 AM Easy for you to say -- at leat ye've got yer damn potato. Spaw's a little short in the tuber department, it seems. All that talk about testing the waters from the Chatahootchie Bridge and all, but a little boredom and he's off in his hole claiming other interests. Wodda wuss! :>) A |

Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: catspaw49 Date: 29 Aug 02 - 10:49 AM Khandu actually has the best answer to this question as I've never been okay in the entirety of my life! Yeah, I've been here much less and for pretty quick looks only because the past couple of months have been good family time and we've stayed pretty busy. The kids are back in school now and the first of the school year is also more hectic as they have gotten older. Tris is doing some new program things that are parent intensive and Michael is really going through a big jump in maturity to where we are having lots of real talks about everything from soccer to adoption. All in all I spend much les time on the net than before but I'm sure I'll have some times when I'll be on hot and heavy. I'm also working at trying to get a Skate Park built in this pissant town and things could be going better...... As to threads, kat pulled the message I had previously posted and it's true for me. Also, I think that on a lot of threads that are started on any subject, musical or BS, even the ones I might have posted to before, I don't often post to now because I have previously said whatever I would say....and probably said it 4 or 5 times before. I mean for chrissakes, I have almost 18,000 posts around here so I've said it somewhere (probably) already. If you figure the word count I think I have outdone War and Peace by a factor of 2 or more!!! Now I look at a thread and think, "Screw it.....I've posted to three others over the years just like it." I guess I just get bored ... not because the thread is a boring idea to those participating, but because I've participated on a few others just like it before. I still enjoy reading the new responses!!! This kinda' thing is just a factor of being around here for a long time and posting a lot. NOW.......What's this about Dover Susan??? Are you going to be in the area or what? The 'Fox doesn't live all that far off either and I haven't seen her for awhile so if you're thinking of it, let us both know what's happening. I guarantee (as will 'Fox) that Warther's is one of the most memorable places you will ever visit. Mick, I'll try to get caught up on my duties at LFPS, Layabouts For Hire........I've really gotten short on my personal layabout time so I need to get that under control first......I mean, "Shirking" is my middle name! Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: Amos Date: 29 Aug 02 - 01:30 PM Spaw, you have proven my point!! Not only are you unspeakably challenged in the tuber department, but you obviously have a shallow mind to think that 18,000 posts -- most of which comprise an extensive dissertation on the sonic dynamics of methane-release mechanisms in larger mammals -- could possibly exhaust your potential repertory. I suggest you re-invent yourself, perhaps as Catspaw 49.1, and start over!! Tell us a little bit about yourself!! Don't feed the trolls, and welcome to the mad Mudcat!! :>) A |
Subject: RE: BS: Spaw OK??? From: wysiwyg Date: 29 Aug 02 - 03:36 PM Well, Pat, you see we stayed with H'fox on our recent trip to the old homeland, and she had these pliers.... and mentioned your love of the place. If the dates can be worked out, I offered a week of respite care to Hardi's folks sometime this fall. Hardi's dad has been poorly for some time, which is why we have been going back and forth so often. Hardi's mom (who is caring for him beautifully) needs a chance to Go Far Away, so I had her train me in all her routines while we were there. So I thought a MudMeet I am NOT hosting might be a heck of a lot of fun, before or after that exercise, and all I know now is that it will be fall sometime, when I can fit it in around all this damn music-community-building I've been doing. Dang you, Pat, you ain't got here to our house YET, so since I can't make it as far as your place, to see your ugly mug, I thought maybe I could lure you to Dover! If not this fall, then next summer, when Hardi and I make the trip again and stop at Dover on our way out, which would be early August. I KNOW H'fox is in! She's the troublemaker who started this! *G*G* (I mean came up with the brilliant idea.) Snagging (hmm, possibly snogging, I owe him one) Big Mick would be a bonus. And where better than Warther's? That John Hardly fellow ought to be recruited as well, from the farside of Ohdiana. I understand he's about an hour off 80, so maybe he and his missus could cruise over as well. And Ms. HippieChick is not far from Chez Warther, either. She's been here housesitting-- blows a mean recorder, that girl, and tambourine? Shake it, baby! Flatlanders Unite! Get a video crew, eh? ~Susan |
