It's a cracking song. Not only are the lyrics wonderful (and wonderfully sung) but the music's terrific as well. Probably an eye-opener for a lot of country fans.

As for the chords, I think they pretty much follow the 1-4-5 pattern (e.g. G-C-D) although I suspect there's a (possibly optional) 7th in there somewhere; something like this:

(G/// means four beats on the G)

G/// G/// G/// G/G7(?)/ C/// C/// G/// G/// D/// C/// G/// D/// G/// G///

Try G-C-D or G-G7-C-D or any other chords based on that pattern to suit your voice. Let's face it, unless you've got a really deep voice you probably won't want to sing it in the same key as Junior anyway!
