Subject: Help in search From: GUEST,Abigail Pine Date: 09 Sep 02 - 04:18 AM I am trying to find a copy of 'Poems And Songs Of Middle-Earth', a vinyl record of songs and poems written by J.R.R. Tolkein. The song are sung by William Elvin, and the poems read by the author. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful. Thanks

Subject: RE: Help in search From: belfast Date: 09 Sep 02 - 09:51 AM May I suggest that you start a new thread with a different title. I suspect that a lot of people log on to this site a give the titles of threads a fairly cursory glance. After all, there are such a lot of them. Your title is likely to be ignored. A title like "Tolkien" or "The Songs of Tolkien" would, I believe, get a better response. I'm sorry I can't help you more with your search but I seem to recall that Donald Swann of "Flanders & Swann" fame composed music for some of the Lord of the Rings songs. Good luck |

Subject: RE: Help in search From: GUEST,Abbie Date: 09 Sep 02 - 01:24 PM Thanks, Belfast. I didn't think it was a very good title, but I was in a hurry when I put it up, so didn't have time for anything better! Abbie

Subject: RE: Help in search: From: Clinton Hammond Date: 09 Sep 02 - 01:46 PM O.k... I checked my handwritten liner notes from the album, and I believe the singers name is William Even... not Elvin... Donald Swan is on piano... Do you know how horrid these versions of the songs are? ,-)
