Subject: I found a 7 leaf clover today From: Mr Red Date: 19 Sep 02 - 06:01 PM and a four and a five leafed clover. But I guess I am out of luck - no six leaf! AND it was a roll over (in the clover) week. So no jackpot! |
Subject: RE: BS: I found a 7 leaf clover today From: Bobert Date: 19 Sep 02 - 06:31 PM Well, I've found many 5's and 4's but never a seven. Heck, don't know what that means. Lets see, "I'm lucky, I'm lucky not, I'm lucky..." There;s something about finding 4's and 5's in certain areas though. There are some clover bed that are more mutated. There's a Jiffy Lube accross town and a clover patch out fornt that is loaded with 4's. That's where I found one of the two 5's that I've found. Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: I found a 7 leaf clover today From: dorareever Date: 19 Sep 02 - 06:47 PM I found a 5-leaf.Lots of simple 3 leaf clover.NEVER a 4-leaf clover-never a 7-leaf or more.I have also seen giant post-chernobyl clover here.It looked huge. That and other things explain why I write weird folk songs about aliens and nuclear accidents. I'm frustrated by clover.I mean I like clover very much, but I never been able to find a four leaf one.No luck for me ;)-I spent 3 years of kindergarten kneeling and searching for them. The teachers always found them,we kids never found one. Some of them found them later maybe....I haven't yet (okay now I don't spend 2 hours a day searching for them anymore)... Mutant giant clover was a thing to see anyway. So are flashy colored factories in the middle of the countryside and giant potatoes.Oh,my country isn't all sea and sun...we also have mutant clover and potatoes...and a lot more.(okay I don't think that this will attract tourists much *lol)

Subject: RE: BS: I found a 7 leaf clover today From: greg stephens Date: 19 Sep 02 - 07:29 PM II have only ever succeeded once in my life, when I found a whole patch on Port Meadow in Oxford with quite a percentage of multiple ones.We picked a good few fours, and a five or two.Maybe a six, I can't remember. That was the one and only time, and I often look. |

Subject: RE: BS: I found a 7 leaf clover today From: Mr Red Date: 19 Sep 02 - 07:55 PM This was in a patch that yields half dozen often, sometimes nothing but this time only three but no sixer. Praps it is telling me not to do the lottery this week!!! One thing that struck me today was that I was fooled by several trefoils because the pattern left a larger gap, or one might summise, room for a fourth. I usually get a sense that a given patch is not likely to have quatrafoils and the colour of the leaves was what I went on but that gap waiting for the fourth leaf maybe a subliminal clue too. clover and out |

Subject: RE: BS: I found a 7 leaf clover today From: Bill D Date: 21 Sep 02 - 12:02 PM when I was a kid, there was a neighbor who had a patch of clover that yielded many multiples....I think there must be genetic things in some strains that do that.. we found every size from 4 up to 11. |

Subject: RE: BS: I found a 7 leaf clover today From: Mr Red Date: 22 Sep 02 - 03:27 AM WYSIWYG saving the world from Trolls but I may need help on "howto" Bill D I agree but if you follow the risome (or exposed oot or whatever you call it) you can find more quatrafoils along with the regular trefoils. I agree they usually come in patches which I reason is due to the soil &/or resident bacteria/insects because it can vanish if you pull up the plants and try to nuture them at home, eventually all the four leaves that were already there but small grow to maturity and therafter only threes. how sad - the clover that is not me! |
