Subject: RE: Cisco Houston From: Doctor John Date: 29 May 98 - 04:57 PM Thanks Rockaday Johnnie; I'd heard a whisper of this but didn't know the reference. Thanks for other information: for all Cisco enthusiasts I've found so far - On Folkways - "Cowboy Ballads", "900 Miles and other RR Songs", "Hard Travelling", "Song of the Open Road" and "CH Sings American Folk Songs" plus "Nursey Rhymes" He also has tracks on "Lonesome Valley", "Schooldays", "This Land Is My Land" and "Songs of the Civil War". All now from Smithsonian Folkways. There's a Verve Folkways album - "Passing Through" Deleted. A Smithsonian Folkways CD "The Folkways Years" - material from above plus a few unissued titles On Stinson he has tracks on "Folksay 3&4" and "Folksay 5&6" . There may be an LP of Cowboy Songs but I've never seen it. Anybody know anything? Three Vanguard LP- "Cisco Special", "I Ain't Got No Home" and "Songs of Woody Guthrie" Then there's the "On The Ranch" I can't find plus other Decca titles.Help welcome please. |
