I hope one of you good people can help me out. I was listening to an american radio station on the web last night, I think it was New York based, and they played a song, which I believe was called Maddy Dances.

I caught the tune but only a few words, and was hoping to get the full song lyrics from some where.

Can anyone help, Please.

Huddie UK

"When Maddy Dances" was written by Ralph McTell so I imagine the lyrics would be on one of the sites devoted to his music.

I remember Maddy dancing at the Enterprise Chalk Farm, London. Many years ago when I were but a lad. Very nice it was to watch too. Such a lovely lady too.

Ralph McTell's website says that "Maddy Dances" appeared on his album "Easy" originally released in 1974, and now available as Leola CD TPGCD17. But the website does not contain lyrics, and I was not able to find the lyrics anywhere else on the Internet.

Ralph's 'Easy' album is just wonderful - some of the best songs ever written. If you can, buy it. You won't be disappointed, I'm sure. I'll try to dig it out for the words.

MADDY DANCES

Ralph McTell

Doesn't it move you just a little bit?
And if you watch I think the chance is
That it will lift your heart a little bit
Ooh, well I mean when Maddy dances
Ooh, well I mean when Maddy dances.

And when she turns her head a little bit
Don't you just love them side-long glances
Surely she lifts your heart a little bit
Ooh, well I mean when Maddy dances.
Ooh, well I mean when Maddy dances.

Clear the stage just a little
And let the lady move around
Play the right kind of music
To get ??????

Look at her stepping sure and lively
Ooh, I can swear you must be sleeping
If it don't lift your heart just slightly
Ooh, well I mean when Maddy's dancing.
Ooh, well I mean when Maddy's dancing.

Clear the stage just a little
Now let that lady move around
Play the right kind of music
To get each ??????? to ground.

Look at her stepping sure and lively
I can swear you must be sleeping
If she don't lift your heart just slightly
Oh, well I mean when Maddy's dancing.
Oh, well I mean when Maddy's dancing.

Can anyone fill in the ?????????gaps??????????PLEASE

MADDY DANCES

Ralph McTell

Doesn't it move you just a little bit?
And if you watch I think the chance is
That it will lift your heart a little bit
Ooh, well I mean, when Maddy dances
Ooh, well I mean, when Maddy dances.

And when she turns her head a little bit

Surely she lifts your heart a little bit?
Ooh, well I mean, when Maddy dances.
Ooh, well I mean, when Maddy dances.

Clear the stage just a little
And let the lady move around.
Play the right kind of music
To get her one inch off of the ground.

Look at her stepping sure and lightly
Ooh, I do swear you must be sleeping
If it don't lift your heart just slightly
Ooh, well I mean, when Maddy's dancing.
Ooh, well I mean, when Maddy's dancing.

Clear the stage just a little
Now let that lady move around.
Play the right kind of music
To get her one inch off of the ground.

Look at her stepping sure and lightly
I do swear you must be sleeping
If she don't lift your heart just slightly
Oh, well I mean, when Maddy's dancing.

In case you don't know, this song is about Maddy Prior
of the English folk-rock band Steeleye Span.
