Subject: found 'Kilkelly' TAB, but can't read it From: GUEST,Matthias in Delaware Date: 04 Oct 02 - 12:17 PM I found what I believe is John from Brisbane's tab for the Irish song, "Kilkelly"(Peter Jones), but it doesn't work on my Mac computer. Am I missing a tablature or MIDI program? Sorry to bother you. Thanks for any help you can give. Matthias |

Subject: RE: found 'Kilkelly' TAB, but can't read it From: MMario Date: 04 Oct 02 - 12:30 PM Mathias - that is in "miditxt" - I don't know if there is a Mac version (I don't think so) the bottom portion is in ABC format - for which BARFLY should work. Not sure if there are other Mac compatible ABC programs. |
Subject: RE: found 'Kilkelly' TAB, but can't read it From: Jeri Date: 04 Oct 02 - 12:41 PM The tune was added in Aug 99 and apparently wasn't harvested. MIDIText is a program that changes a MIDI into text for posting and back again. Comes in handy for sharing tunes. If you want, you could e-mail me, and I could convert it to MIDI and send it as an attachment. (By the way, I lived in Dover DE '98-'99) |
Subject: RE: found 'Kilkelly' TAB, but can't read it From: Jeri Date: 04 Oct 02 - 01:01 PM More thread creep... Matthias, if you know someone named Tom who writes songs (which I'd love to hear/buy/learn) about ghosts on islands and Salvation Army originators, this really IS a small world after all. If you don't know what I'm talking about, never mind. :-) |
Subject: RE: found 'Kilkelly' TAB, but can't read it From: Jeri Date: 04 Oct 02 - 01:06 PM Oopsie, different Matt. It's really not a small world after all and you can all remove that tune from your head. Replace it with Kilkelly. He e-mailed me, and I'll send him the MIDI. |
Subject: RE: found 'Kilkelly' TAB, but can't read it From: GUEST Date: 04 Oct 02 - 01:09 PM Is it Tom Taylor? He is a singer-songwriter who plays in bars in Wilimington, Del. I wish I knew more about this "Tom." I ask around a bit for you. |
Subject: RE: found 'Kilkelly' TAB, but can't read it From: Jeri Date: 04 Oct 02 - 01:40 PM Tom Maher. His son's name is Matt. I wish I'd recorded his songs, I wish he'd done a CD. He's a great songwriter and I don't think anyone outside Dover's heard of him. I know folks in Dover were nagging him to record, but I don't know if he ever did. I'd love to buy a CD of his songs! Thanks! |
