Subject: RE: French Canadian Folk Songs From: Murray@saltspring.com Date: 16 Jun 98 - 01:27 AM Jose -- you'll have to give more information, anything at all that can identify the record, even how old it is. That title could cover a lot of discs!! You mention lakes & canoes etc., so maybe you can give some more of the contents. There's many a Canadian song that deals with them! One clue you can give, surely: where you heard of it. Murray |
Subject: RE: French Canadian Folk Songs From: Dan Calder Date: 16 Jun 98 - 06:35 AM Jose, I may be giving you information you already have, but there is a great folk group from your neck of the woods called Tanglefoot. One of their albums is called "Voyageurs & Vagabonds" and is, to use their words, a compilation of traditional French Canadian Voyageur songs. It's only available as a cassette, and you can order through their web site. I have their cds and I've seen them perform live. An absolutely fantastic group. Check out their site. www.kawartha.com/tanglefoot/ Enjoy, Dan |
