Subject: RE: New music club, Herts, UK, starts 23/10. From: breezy Date: 20 Oct 02 - 08:46 AM Good luck to the Dent vent-ure> When is the 'Bard of Thessalonika' booked to appear then? who? did I hear you say, George Papa-g, thats who, he'll pull em in locally seeing as you will hope for some local cred. He'll be playing Bedford and Stortfolk in the new year and St Albans this week on Friday at the Comfort hosting the legend of English Folk, the great and much loved and respected, the heart of Herga, Johnny Collins. Anyone who is anyone in Folk circles know that it'll be the only place to be this week 25th Oct 2002 The following week Friday 1st Nov Roy Bailey is on and tickets are selling very nicely thank you. George will be there as well. floowing weeks see Mike Deavin on the 8th, Then Anne Lister 'moth' 15th, George Papa-g on the 22nd then Jermy Taylor to end the season 29th Nov I do hate it when some one usurps your thread for their own ends, but its a valid suggestion. And not a word about chorus songs on Sats at the Blue Anchor Fishpool st, St Albans, oops. |

Subject: RE: New music club, Herts, UK, starts 23/10. From: Piers Date: 21 Oct 02 - 06:31 AM But obviously, get yourself to Croxley Green as well as St Albans, that's where it's all going to happpen. An excellent place to warm up for the weekend. The host is providing some really nice stools for performers, they cost him £60 each, but unfortunately they are now available for £40. Martin's Mum has made a big banner to go behind the stage, it's going to be a great evening!!! |

Subject: RE: New music club, Herts, UK, starts 23/10. From: breezy Date: 22 Oct 02 - 03:59 PM not promising but there's a chance depends on Olympic air line landing on time at Gatwick. Dont miss Johnny Collins unless you want to lose folk-cred, he is our biggest local folk legend , then you can learn from a master, See earlier submission for details |

Subject: RE: New music club, Herts, UK, starts 23/10. From: GUEST,Piers Date: 25 Oct 02 - 04:42 AM Breezy You must be referring to Cathy from the excellent Pagan's Chalice, they are good aren't they? And very nice people too. Next one is 20th November - the excellent Hamish Currie, Martin Banks and someone else who, rather embarassingly, I can't remember. I think it says in the Unicorn. Then December 11th, you can see Cathy (+ Trevor) again in country mode (Newport West) + new face on the scene Rob H., Luton's answer to Elvis Presely. Plus of course the Flat Martin's and floorspots. By the way - I'm surprised you weren't up for singing Breezy! Cheers Marlon, you could have just told me in person, we work in the same place you know. Piers |
