I like the 11/16 Submerged Wood Bridge made by Gary Sosebee. I like them so much I put them on all my banjos and I own six banjos.

The old double-edged razor-blades work fine, as good for the strings as they are for the head.

"Banjo Bridge Help"

1) Place banjo in car
2) Locate nearest bridge on roadmap
3) Drive to middle of bridge
4) Stop car
6) Throw banjo off of bridge

But seriously folks.... I like Grover compensated bridges.

Bruce

Grover is a good choice. Or make one. Or look at Elderly.com for one. If you liked the action as it was, then measure the height of the old one and get the same height in a new one. Emerson Power Bridge is a good one for pickers. Maybe not what you need if you play clawhammer.
