Ten years after you asked, but in the event you're somehow still looking, the song was originally recorded in 1915 by Collins and Harlan for Columbia. I've been told that Billy Murray also had a version of the tune. The song was written by Irving Berlin, and was never a top hit, but is fairly well remembered.
