There used to be a quip which ran along the lines of:-
" Two weeks ago I culdn't even spel teacha and now I are wun."
Every time I hear the Shrub say Nukular weapon I shudder.

"I caint spel it, can't say it but I sho got me a bunch of the little suckers!"
Kind thoughts
Michael

Detention Assignment:

Student - Georgie Bush, Jr.

You shall write 5,000 times on the blackboard "New-clear = Nuclear"...

And then say it that way. With clarity. "New..clear".

If you don't get it right after that, write it out another 5,000 times, and repeat the above instructions for as long as it takes.

Little Hawk, yew fail too!
The book say nu'-clee-ar. Nu-clear is a brand of something or other.

I see one of the Canadian staff at the Prague meeting called Bush a moron in a private conversation. The press caught it and the poor gal is in hot water.

Hell, Chretien is a moron himself!!! LOL! We should just get honest here, and admit that morons are in charge on both sides of the border.

Let me qualify that: Jean Chretien is moronic in certain respects (listen to him talk, and you'll soon see what I mean), BUT he is a very astute politician in certain other respects, and has had a long and successful career because of it. Bush may, for all I know, may also be quite capable in some respects.

Still, I think this is quite funny. It's amazing that something like this can become a mini-political-crisis. It shows just how immature the present system is. Why should anyone even care what the guy said? I doubt there's been any politician in history whom other politicians have not referred to as a "moron" or something pejorative like that, when they thought no media people were listening.

Nixon called Trudeau (an unquestionably brilliant Canadian PM, whether or not you agreed with him)...an "asshole". It came out in the Watergate tapes. The Canadian press tried to make a big thing out of it, and asked Trudeau for his reaction. He smiled and said, "I have been called worse things by worse men."

Great answer! Trudeau was what I would call a mature human being. I'm not so sure about Chretien and Bush.

1)Nuclear is a 3 syllable word--new-clee-ar.
2)Shrub is a moron--why be afraid to say so?
3)Maybe Chretien is a moron--I'm embarassed to say I don't know.
4)You get what you pay for............
5)"Nukyalar" doesn't bother me as much as "irregardless"........
6)If any of this actually means anything, I don't know what it is.

The inmates in charge. Just so! Number one son is tops in popularity in the polls. He hikes his leg to make his mark and everyone nods approvingly.
Chretien is a master at not rocking the boat, but he is so intent on not making waves that Canada is spinning in circles as the tub empties and its economy goes down the drain. (Department of banal clichés)

Actually our (Canada's) economy is doing quite well compared to the U.S. thank you very much.

Chretien cannot string an sentence together in any known language, which is the basis of his successful forty-year career in politics. His words can be spun any way you like.   49% of us would vote Liberal again today. (I.t helps that Chretien is not going to run again, but it helps more that the opposition is a confused mess)

The remark made by Ms Ducros was in a "private conversation to a reporter"--an oxymoron--which was overheard and reported upon by another reporter. Given that she's the chief of the PM's communications staff, that was pretty unprofessional.

Even though she's right. It was a golden opportunity for our own right wing to jump in and yell and whine about "anti-Americanism", (a favorite stalking horse of theirs since they want us all to be Americans) and she shouldn't have handed it to them.

When one gets tired of bitching about nuc-u-lar, you can consider the threats from the tay-rists. It's enough to get Yale disqualified from tax exemptions, even if he has been misunderestimated.

It's tough for a guy from Connecticut to do that fake Texas s**t-kicker accent without spitting the silver spoon out of his mouth.

He's another fine product of the Yale legacy program. Misunderestimate my arse.

it seems to be a growing epidemic (ety-demic?)...

Meet the Press 11/24 -- Sen Graham, D-Florida -- If he said it once, he said it 20 times "newkyular""newkyular""newkyular""newkyular""newkyular"...

arg.

Sadly, do you realize that the dictionary recognizes "irregardless"? arg again.

Yeah. The reason I spelled it out as "New-clear" instead of "New-cle-ar" was this: I figure that Bush already knows how to pronounce the words "new" and "clear", so it would make it easier for him. He might be confused by new-cle-ar. Anyway, if you say new-clear, it sounds the same as saying new-cle-ar. Try it. It sounds exactly the same.

Is "Chretien " a misspelling of "Cretin?" if he claims to be a friend of George Bush, he's wide open to the suggestion.

Not sure if I should be picking on other people's politicians, given the ones Australia has ...
