Oh, why not? They are having a big concert tonight for George. Maybe I'll play a little "All Things Must Pass" later. Has anyone heard "Brainwashed"? (If mbo were still here I would make smart remarks about Jeff Lynne and ELO).

yours, Peter T.

At the gig tonight, I'll be sure to do James Keelaghans "Who Dies" and send it out into the ether for George...

Herbie Flowers was supposed to be along to the club in Shoreham tonight and then got involved in this at the Albert Hall ... apparently the tickets were up to £125 each! However, Herb, allegedly, was not impressed at what audiences were expected to cough up... still Richard Durrant an' we all had a some good harmonies along to Hey Jude!

Herbie and Richard have just released a new album BTW "Pandora" on Longman Records www.longman-records.com

There was an all too brief clip of George (with Herbie and noddy hat) on BBC TV's Later with Jools Holland tonight.

Hardly seems like a year, still missing him:

Give me love, give me love
Give me peace on Earth
Give me light, give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope to help me cope
With this heavy load
Trying to touch and reach you
With heart and soul

My Lord
Please
Take hold of my hand
That I might understand you
Won't you please, oh won't you

Just heard briefly from my friend who was AT the concert tonight, Peter- and I'm jealous as hell! I'll report back with more details when he's calmed down a bit- says he's died & gone to heaven. (He's got 'Brainwashed' too, but I've not heard it yet. Who was there?
Paul,
Ringo,
Tom Petty,
Joe Brown,
all of Monty Python apart from John Cleese,
Jeff Lynne (other people would understand apart from Mbo, Peter!)
Dahni Harrison who looks amazingly like his Dad,

and loads more who I can't remember right now, Sure it'll be in the papers tomorrow.

*sigh*

My very nice eye specialist, no name mentioned, told me as he was looking very closely into my eye that he was going to the concert tonight, I wanted to grab him and give him a big kiss and say 'take me' (the concert I meant) but I couldn't see him every well and wasn't sure what I might grab (the eye machine I meant) I'm sure when I go back in a couple of weeks time he will delight in telling me how good it was. Still expect he could afford the ticket!

HI Stringman,

Yes, Shoreham by Sea Sussex .. d'y'know it? And if you're local then it's our club this Friday in Worthing with
the Hofners www.longman-records.com/hofners.htm
NICK PYNN www.nickpynn.co.uk
Geoff Robb www.classicalguitarist.co.uk/geoffspage.htm
an ex-ex-member of Jethro Tull (headlining at Quebec City Summer Festival) who's a bit publicity shy

The Greenhils boys - Bluegrass
The Sobs from Horsham
and Buddha's Last Tea Party all the way from Essex!

Blimey! If I'd known I was going to have an OPen Mic line up like that I'd have put the price up - from 2 quid!

He was my favorite. Was it taped and I wonder if it will be shown in other countries?

Anyone know where all of his guitars are? Probably still with family.I sure did like that Rickenbacker 12 string he had. I miss him.

I can't believe it's a year already either for the passing of my favorite of the bunch. I never relent rom from reminding folks that with all of the "fog of P.R." over how much John & What's her name's record of "pacifism-cum-performance art *talked* a good game of Peace it was George Harrison whom actually *did* something in the form of his benefit Concert for Bangela Desh and then followed up to make damn sure that the collected funds were not further siphoned off by certain various concert marketer-parasites in suits.

Reminds me of my search for the DVD release of the "Concert or Bangela Desh" film.

Thus a concert for remembering George Harrison is more than just fitting since I can predict that it was all recorded and will be released ass a DVD with the revenues going to whatever G.Harrison's favorite charity was of late.

"All Things Must Pass" is still the best of all of the solo albums of all of the Beatles to my ear. Upon hearing of Harriosn's passing my thoughts immediately recalled "Isn't It A Pity" , then the *original* "My Sweet Lord" ,and then the totally celebratory "Wah-Wah".......and while writing this the harmonica strains of "Apple Scruffs" are playing in my mind's ear from memory.

Guess it's time I actually bought the CD since my album version has passed.;-)
