I have just been belatedly advised by Catsphiddle that you're not
supposed tosend living creatures as "secret santa" gifts. Too late for my UK recipient as it was shipped from USA today. But, it was very much alive when I taped-up the box. It was a very reluctant traveler!!!

Well the only thing I object to is the amount of Black Widow Spiders finding their way to Tesco's in this fair isle by making their homes in grapes over in sunny California!!!!!

If it was alive when you sent it and you did the right thing by putting some ventilation hols in the box......so it can breathe!.....then it should be fine!!!......if you sent a spider then I will personally castrate you!!!!!........

I sent those bears, adequately tranq'ed, a few weeks ago. The bears should get there just fine. Don't know so much about the elves, but, what the hey!, that's what they signed on for.

Haven't heard anything from you yet, Sandra in Sydney, hope the package is there, or nearly so. Uh, if the crate is open and there is elf blood and bits about, believe I'd be a bit cautious about peering inside.

Well I sent the spider tucked safely into one of the other parts of the present for my Secret Santee.

It must be related to Cleigh, though. Interesting evolutionary link?? Because, unlike Cleigh who gets some gaseous human blowing up his ass, my poor spider gets a human finger up her/his ass.

Blame it on the other Mudcatter who hijacked my Secret Santee's Mudcat account one day.

More than one bear - oooh, I can hardly wait. I will run to the post office tomorrow.

On second thoughts, it'a a good thing that my neighbour, Glenn, is now going to be sharing my Post Office box (the post office charges like a wounded ... bear!) & has offered to collect mail for me if he gets there first. Maybe I'd better send him an e-mail to say that there maybe something that might bite (or has already bitten various elves). Poor elves, but as you said, they did sign up for danger money (I hope you were paying them?)
