A warm, sunny January day in dear old San Diego -- shirtsleeves and banjo music and pedestrians with kids wandering the grove. Wotta concept! If we can do it on 4/5 on 11/12 we could even have Barky along. Make a mariachi event out of it!! :>)

Yep, sure have. There use to be banjo and fiddle contest's in "Pepper Tree Grove" on the south east side of the park.

We had a riproaring time, although we were only three players -- Banjoest, Mike Mandolin, a wonderful pilot with a string of tales to tell, and Yrs Trly. Played for about three hours nonstop, lots of pleasant interactions with the onlookers who wandered by and would stop, remembering what a fine thing the music could be, and grinning and tapping for a while. These are among my very favorite hours in life, and I am indebted to Hugh for making them happen.
