* Saturn passes in front of the Crab Nebula for Northern Hemisphere
observers on January 4-5.
* Venus is a brilliant-white "Morning Star" in the southeast before and
during dawn.
* First-quarter Moon on January 10th.

Thanks tar heel! I saw Venus again this morning, brilliant and lovely in the southeast just as the sun was coming up. Not as huge as 'she' appeared on Dec 17-18 though! Still watching for Saturn ...

The question is, if Jupiter continually fails to come into a perfect alignment with Mars can we still start the age of aquarius or is the entire thing off?

I celebrated the dawning of the Age of Aquarius a few years back. Any excuse for a party. Some "expert" tried to tell us that we had the alignments wrong but we really didn't care.

Now, if I remember my Bible correctly. Lucifer is the name given to the planet Venus at this time of year - the falling star. The name means Lightbearer and had no relationship to the devil until Dante's time.Or is it too early in the morning for me to be remembering?

It's always struck me as encouraging that the morning star and the evening star are the same star. Reminds me of something the poet James Plunkett (shot in 1916) wrote - "The flowers of heaven and earth are the same flowers."

Day is a-breaking in my soul.
