i found on a link about advertisements a jingle form the 50's
about Rice Krispies...this reminded me that there used to be
a catchy little jingle that started out Snap is a happy sound...
anyone know the rest? There was a folk group a few years back that
used to perform this with nice harmonies, and finger snapping....

That is the whole song as I remember it. Funny you should mention it; I have been thinking of adding it to my repertoire as a gag/nostalgia song. (Bet half of the Mudcatters wonder what the heck we are talking about!)

The way it gets performed at our summer camp is by a trio - each takes one verse - each does their own "name" for the burden line - but sing the "rice Krispies" in harmony (or cacophony depending on who is singing) - then they do ALL three verses at the same time to finish.

Oak Ash & Thorn (with our own loveable El Swanno) have been doing this one for years, sometimes on stage, more often in our livingroom... After a while our friend AJ couldn't take it anymore; she cracked up and wrote this parody. I just called her for permission to post it here:

I sometimes sing all three parts at once. That is,

You thought they tasted? They always tasted like crunchy milk to me. (And the crunchy didn't last long either.) There's hardly any flavour there at all. No wonder Cocoa Crispies became so popular.
