A looong time ago, on George Morton's Saturday Night Folk radio programme in San Diego, I heard this great song about letters. I've no idea who did it, but it was sung by a woman. Some stray lines that I remember:

If they're not written down right it's no use at all!

So give me letters that jump off the page
And even when faded, they don't seem to age

...and howl like a hound

Some of those letters are still on the town!


Crazy bunch of lines, but I'm afraid that over the 15 years since I heard it I forgot most of it. If anybody has a clew what the heck the title is and whodunit, it'd go a long way toward helping me track down a recording....
