Subject: Teaching EGL thru Songs From: TAF Date: 24 Jul 98 - 08:55 PM I am looking for songs that have references to American history and/or culture. I would like to use these songs to teach Am. History to my ESL students. Any suggestions? |

Subject: RE: Teaching EGL thru Songs From: Anne Date: 24 Jul 98 - 10:08 PM Wow, I wish I wee your student. A Woody Guthrie or Pete Seegar album is a History lesson in itself. You could try smithsonian or folkway for actual titles. "The Long Memory" (one of my favorites) available from Redhouse Records is a collection of songs about labor, it has a Spanish song or 2. Good Luck. Anne |
