This is a terrific duo from the Chicago area...just rec'd an email from them regarding the following:

Mon. March 31, Testing Testing--A Live Webcast, 7pm (PST)          www.electricedge.com/testingtesting

"We've done live radio/internet broadcasts before but this is really our first web-only concert and we're really looking forward to it. We'll be playing live at 7pm Pacific time, U.S. (that's 11pm Eastern, 10pm Central, and 9pm Mountain...you'll have to figure out the rest...). So if you are at your computer next Monday night, set the old browser and listen in. You can even drop us a line during the show...hmm...a Small Potatoes Chat line..."
*******

I wish I had the ability to tune in but I don't. So will listen to their CDs Monday night instead. Click on SPUDS at their website for upcoming tour dates...they will be all over the place in the coming months.

These people are fantabulous!   I happen to pick out as my favorit a piece called "Avocado" (musically sophisticated, and FUN-NEE), but other stuff is wonderful too!

And Jacquie does a version of Grace Slick's old Lather, that will knock your socks off...

Friends of mine here in Montana lived next door to Small Potatoes in Chicago. I met them when they were in Bozeman doing a concert. Funny and good couple.

I've had the good fortune to get to know Rich and Jacquie over the last several years during their visits to Florida -- they are quite amazing and well worth the listen. Their style is quite "theatrical" as in the conversational "Waltz of the Wallflowers". Please make the effort to give them a listen.

Paul

Thanks to all who have added their comments...these guys put on a great show, eclectic, accessible, enthusiastic...and they are really good people, to boot. Jacquie won first place at Kerrville a couple of years ago for her Waltz of the Wallflowers. And their covers of Michael Smith and others are very well done, as well. Wish I could listen in but hope they will return to CA in the fall as they have the last few years.

"Waltz of the Wallflowers" is a true gem! These folks are wonderful. It is true they an almost theatrical style to their show, as Paul says above - but its certainly folk (or folkstyle). They are simply the best I've seen in this genre.
