Subject: RE: wooden flute for sale - Australia From: Bob Bolton Date: 06 Apr 03 - 08:16 AM G'day Garg ... and punkin, Hey it's only those cheap Australian dollars! (OK - we have gained 20% on the greenback since the talking up of the Iraq debacle ... punkin's price is about US$1440 at current rates). It does depend on a few more specifics: What type of keys? (Old separate keys - or Boehm system ... ?) ... or ... ? Is the metal head conteporary with the wooden body ... or a later modification? (Not necessarily bad ... a friend has some great old wooden flutes with moderm metal head joints (made by the bloke who made the gold head for Galway's flute!) Regards, Bob Bolton |
Subject: RE: wooden flute for sale - Australia From: Helen Date: 06 Apr 03 - 07:07 PM Added to Bob Bolton's questions: are there any splits in the wood, i.e. is it playable as-is? Helen |

Subject: RE: wooden flute for sale - Australia From: Dead Horse Date: 08 Apr 03 - 05:48 AM Is this here "flute" about 8ft long, with aboriginal doodles painted on it? |
Subject: RE: wooden flute for sale - Australia From: Jerry Date: 09 Apr 03 - 04:52 PM the flute has seperate metal keys no cracks and as far as i know the metal heat joint is original. a master flute player here in town says it is an excellant instrument and a well known instrument maker gave me a valuation. i am open to negotiations but only realistc offers. good wooden flutes, with keys are bloody expensive to get made so this one is below half price. the tone is lovely and having the keys is a great advantage at times. Subject: RE: wooden flute for sale - Australia From: GUEST Date: 09 Apr 03 - 11:31 PM Hmmm....why doesnt the master flute play in your town buy the beastie? |
Subject: RE: wooden flute for sale - Australia From: Jerry Date: 12 Apr 03 - 12:07 AM Sorry nobody was interested in making a sensible offer(or comment) on the flute. the master flute player who tried it is not in a financial pos. to buy it unfortunately. it really does need to be seen as pig in a poke said. i shall try to sell it privately. |
