Used by the lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Coalition on the track "Friendly Fire" on their album "It's in the Bag, Dad".

Due to be released any day soon.

I heard that Julia made up a tune on her axe of evil using BAGDAD tuning, called "Shlock and AH". Somehow I find it hard to believe. What about you -are you with her or against her?

The reports are in and their credibility is wanting. What else is new?

You can get some coherent tunes from this if you read it backwards, ie. DADGAB is a useful tuning. I've got a couple of old blues songs that were originally in DGDGBD which I play in DADF#AB - the key of D to suit my vocal range and the B to compensate for arthritis slowing up my fingers. I have determined that these tunes and a lot of others could be played in DADGAB, and I can see that it might occasionally make the fingering easier, but the only other reason I can see for using this tuning is to confuse the unwary guitar feelers who just have to pick up your guitar and strum it the minute you leave the room.

As a kid, I used to have a Piano method book in which I solved word puzzles from the notes on a sample staff. My favorites were always "bagdad" (which I knew was the home of Jeannie on "I dream of Jeannie") and "fag" and yes, they were really in my piano book!.
