Eric Bogle's British Tour

Does anyone have details of Eric's tour this summer? I found them on his website a couple of months ago but they seem to have disappeared.

I was hoping he was going to have a London date. A friend in Cork tells me he's playing Mallow in early August. I'll be in Kerry then and it could be a good session. Tralee or even Dingle would be better.

That's very useful. Listowel might be easier than Mallow. Any idea why Eric's not playing London?

I don't know why Eric was not booked in London. But seeing the gap, a few of us from the Herga, Tudor & St Albans clubs got together to organise a venue, and it's the WATFORD one (James Theatre, Shepherds Road, Watford - part of the Watford Boys School), on THURSDAY 24th July. Furthermore, we have secured some excellent support in Johnny Collins and Martyn Wyndham-Read for the night; it should be a CRACKING event. Very decently priced too: £10 for advance bookings (£8 concessions - proof required). I certainly advise people to book early, as the 250 seats are expected to go by mid-June latest.

To book your tickets for this event, send S.A.E and cheque (made out to 'Herga Folk Club') to Mrs J.Sparks, 36 King Edward Road, Barnet EN5 5AP.

Come and see us in God's country - should be a brilliant night. We've also got LocTup Together, Waite Collective, Copper Kettle and Stanley Accrington on the line-up, plus a couple of young musicians (12 and 14!!!). Jim McDonald will be performing and MC-ing.

yes, there is a bar; some decent bottled beers, I am told (Pedigree and the like). Kick off at 8:00.

I strongly advise pre-booking via the address above for tickets to avoid both likely disappointment and the higher on-the-door price (£15 instead of £10).

I've been given the go ahead to interview Eric by phone before he comes over, so I'll be playing the interview on Sounds of Folk on BBC GMR sometime late June / early July.
