Hi there,

I must give in that sometimes I'm really bad in finding chords :o(
I'm deeply impressed by some songs I heard from Karan Casey's CD "Songline"
Now I'm looking for the chords to

Roger the miller
and
The Digger's song

Can anyone help? Would be great

Thanks in advance

Sabine

Roger the miller?

Wouldn't you get all covered with flour dust?

Sing the second song and Digger way out?

By the way, the link doesn't work, but should like this:

Sorry Sabine -- the thread dropped off my radar... Here's how I play "Roger the Miller":

C F C         Young Roger the Miller...
C Am F       To a farmer's fine daughter...
C Em F G    She had for her fortune...
C Em F G    Her father he gave her...
Am             She had also the fortune,
F C G C      She had also the fortune of 500 pounds.

This is my version; it doesn't match Karan Casey's version exactly. For starters, hers is in B (H to you), so you'll have to transpose... or tune all strings down half a step! ;-)

"The World Turned Upside Down" is dead simple. Again, her recording is in the key of B, and you can play the song with just B and F# (throw in a 7th here and there).

For what it's worth, I'm not too crazy about her take on this Leon Rosselson song. Better versions, IMO, have been recorded by The Black Family on "Time for Touching Home" (Dara, 1989) and by Mudcatter radriano with Out of the Rain on "A Common Treasury" (self-produced, 1985). If you PM radriano, he may still have one of those tapes lying around.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael,

thanks a million :o)))
I think this will help me a lot also to find out the minor part.

Will have a look on those other versions you suggested.

Kind regards

Sabine
