Hello all Mudcatters and Guests in or near Berlin, Germany or those willing to travel!
On June 14th, starting at 3 PM (entrance beginning at 2 PM) there will be the
            1st Irish Summer Folkfestival

at the Ufa-Fabrik, Viktoriastrasse 10 - 18, 12105 Berlin. The line-up is
Ben Sands (of the Sands Family, what more can be said...)
Midnight Court (living irish tradition, I recommended them already)
Inish (pure irish tradition, great instrumentalists and singers)
An Tain / Irish Weavers with guests (Berlins leading irish balladeers)
Brid Ni Cathàin (Irish harp and vocals)
Colinda (Cajun, let the good times roll))
John Shanahan & friends (irish folk, great guitarist)
Willi Bedarf (Berlin humor in song & story)
The Irish Waves ( Berlins answer to riverdance - spreedance?)
& of course the mighty session...

After the MUDCAT arose from the ashes I felt it was time for this thread to arise again. Are there really no Folkies in the area who can add some recommendations/commentaries? I don`t want to talk (write) to myself all the time.

Hi Ernest, I'm just posting to relieve your loneliness. I haven't been to Berlin since the 70s, and don't recognize any of those musicians' names, but if it's Irish, it's bound to be fun!

Thanks Michael,
you are right, with the exception of Ben Sands (Sands Family from Northern Ireland - they should have toured the US) most of the performers are local resident irish. Midnight Court have played on at least one of the major irish festivals there, Eddie Smyth and Marty Byrne (2/3 of Inish) playing in St. Louis/Mo every year or every few years.
