Subject: Seeking Traditional Song Swaps- Ireland From: Judy Cook Date: 24 May 03 - 08:24 PM There's a good chance Dennis & I will be in Ireland for a short visit on a Monday thru Thursday in March. We would like very much to find song swaps. There's been a thread about finding sessions, but we are not looking for instrumental sessions. How about ballad sessions? --Judy Cook |
Subject: RE: Seeking Traditional Song Swaps- Ireland From: Felipa Date: 25 May 03 - 03:48 AM I have just refreshed a thread Traditional Singers in Ireland for your benefit. The term "song swap" is not familiar, so I did a search for "singing circles" I don't know you, Judy, but I believe I have read praise for your singing (another Mudcat thread); are you from the Washington DC area? |
Subject: RE: Seeking Traditional Song Swaps- Ireland From: Felipa Date: 25 May 03 - 03:59 AM You are planning well ahead of time. In March it really would be worthwhile including a weekend, the weekend of the Inishowen Traditional Singers festival, Co Donegal (in the US, contact Dan Milner for info); or if you can even get to Inishowen for the Monday, the singing continues informally Mon afternoon and night I believe. I put that information on this thread rather than on the older thread because it specifically refers to your March date. |
