Subject: Lyr Add: HUNTING THE DUCK From: Barbara Date: 10 Aug 98 - 12:57 AM HUNTING THE DUCK Zeke Hoskin 1991 This drab city life isn't right for a man We're bound to live free and to kill what we can; So it's off to the country where the air's fresh and clear With a carton of ciggies and 12 dozen beer.
CHORUS:
We climb in the truck about six forty-five,
It's up with the dawn though the coffee's no good,
We crouch without moving from seven to three
Then back to the cabin for whiskey and steak,
The next day the ducks have gone elsewhere in flocks,
Then it's back to the city refreshed by our sport, |

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Hunting the Duck From: Barbara Date: 10 Aug 98 - 01:42 PM A friend tells me it is close to some other tune, Morning something, but give me a day or two and I'll post it. Zeke is a Vancouver BC songwriter, and he's written a number of wonderful songs including a Chocolate song for adults, "Those harp-breaking bastards that fly the great planes..(they plug up their earholes and and unplug their brains), and a song about flatulence whose chorus goes: "So load up on chili and blow out your shorts. The ocean is wide, it's a long way to port The dusty old cowpoke goes rambling along This chorus has nothing to do with the song"
He has a tape out called "Life Is Lethal"and his e-mail addy is "tzhoskin@uniserve.com".

Subject: Zeke Hoskin contact info update From: Haruo Date: 03 Jul 04 - 02:06 PM Apparently his email is now zeke @ zekehoskin.com, and his webpages start at http://home.comcast.net/~zekehoskin/ . Heard "Valparaiso in a Rowboat" for the first time last night (at the chantey sing preceding a showing of the Huston/Bradbury/Peck Moby-Dick on board the Wawona! Great venue for a sailing flick!) and had to look him up to see if I can get the Esperanto rights in time for our convention two weeks from now in Sidney. Haruo |
