Subject: If you love me love me love From: ron k Date: 16 Aug 98 - 12:17 PM I am looking for the words for this old (70's) song by the pianist Frank Mills. It's the story about a guy coming across an organ grinder who sang the chorus and returned a few years later to find he died "one cold November day". The chorus goes "If you love me, love me, love why did you ever leave me girl" repeated 2 or 4 times. Any help would be appreciated. |

Subject: RE: If you love me love me love From: Joe Offer Date: 18 Aug 98 - 03:29 AM Did you say 1970's, Ron? I'm afraid my clock stopped in 1970, when Uncle Sam got me and sent me over to preserve Berlin from Communism. By the time I got back, I was stuck listening to whatever music my children listened to. Now, if it was 1870's, you might have a chance..... -Joe Offer- Click hereif you'd like to see where to buy the song on CD so you can transcribe it for us..... |

Subject: Lyr Add: LOVE ME, LOVE ME, LOVE (Frank Mills) From: ron k Date: 24 Aug 98 - 07:51 PM Well Joe, I found the lyrics in a Frank Mills songbook, and as promised, here they are.
LOVE ME, LOVE ME, LOVE
Standing on a corner, passing time away,
(CHORUS) He sang, "Love me, love me, love, why did you ever leave me, girl?
I couldn't help but wonder how the old man got his song,
I went back to the corner just to hear the old man play.
