I heard this lesser known Bob Wills number at a holiday jam over the 4th. Anyone got the lyrics? I've looked at Cowpie, and in the Mudcat database and done a Google search, no luck. It is NOT "Rose of San Antone". Thanks.

I found mention of

Waltzing in Old San Antone (Henson/Sanders)

at LiveDaily

Also, at Gary and Jean Prescott
also perform the song "Waltzing in Old San Antone".

Still haven't located lyrics.

Gene sent the MP3 as well as his thoughts on the words.

Waltzing In Old San Antone
Bob Wills & Lee Ross = Vocal
(Henson/Sanders)

We were waltzing one night in old San Antone
With love's desire in our hearts
You said that you loved me and always be mine
And nothing could tear us apart

And now that we've parted and you've found someone new
I will always love you, no matter what you do,
And maybe someday you'll come back my way,
And we'll waltz again in old San Antone

<Instrumental Break>
REPEAT 2ND VERSE

Note there are several yips, and such interspersed.

We were waltzing one night in old San Antone
With Love-----in our heart
When you told me that you loved me
And would always be mine
And nothing could keep us apart
    Chorus

And now that we've parted
And you've found someone new
I always love you, no matter what you do
And maybe some day, you'll come back my way
And we'll waltz again in old San Antone

I'll never forget the night that we met
Beneath, that old Texas moon
And I knew in my heart
That some day we would part

I'm sorry that maybe the words I posted don't match some of the other words posted but they came off of the music sheet that Bob Wills printed and sold so I assume they are correct Louie Roy

I believe that second line is actually, "with love deep down in our hearts." Or perhaps I inadvertantly lifted those lyrics?

Do you still have the MP3 of Waltzing in Old San Antone? I have a copy of a recent CD, but everyone says it is the wrong melody. I found an MGM 45 on the internet, but not sure it is worth trying to find the equipment on which to play it.

Can't find it right now. Will check in a bit more detail later. I did have a crash in 2005 so hoping it didn't get lost then.
