Does anyone have these lyrics? I found 'Mist Covered Mountains' in the DT database, which I think is the translation, but not the Scottish ones. I believe the Rankin Family recorded it.

Huzzah! Finally I can help someone with lyrics!

CHI MI NA MORBHEANNA

Chorus:
O chi, chi mi na morbheanna
O chi, chi mi na corrbheanna
O chi chi mi na coireachan
Chi mi na sgoran fo cheo

Chi mi gun dail an t-aite's an d'rugadh mi
Cuiear orm failt 's a' chanain a thuigeas mi
Gheibh mi ann aoidh agus gradh 'n uair ruigeam
Nach reicinn air thunnaichean oir

Chi mi ann coilltean, chi mi ann doireachan
Chi mi ann maghan bana is toraiche
Chi mi na feidh air lar nan coireachan
Falaicht' an trusgan de cheo

Beanntaichean arda is aillidh leacainnean
Sluagh ann an comhnuidh is coire cleachdainnean
'S aotrom mo cheum a'leum g'am faicinn
Is fanaidh mi tacan le deoin

The Gaellic spelling is probably shot with mistakes, and I can't put in the accents. But I hope this helps!

Sue

I'm refreshing this thread because i see that Elaine and Cuilionn mentioned this song on the Parting songs thread. Other internet sources of the lyrics include George Seto's pages and http://ingeb.org/songs/mistcovd.html

there's a midi in the mist-covered mountain thread I'm not fond of that English title as it can also be used for Kishmul's Galley (Beinn a' Cheathaich)
