Searching for the lyrics and chords to a Christmas song I remember from my youth - Morris the Moose. Anyone have any suggestions where to look? Thanks -Lee

There's a Lorne Elliot song about Morris the Moose, but it doesn't seem very Christmassy.

I found partial lyrics,
"I'm Morris the Moose. Morris the Moose thats me. I'm big and strong and I can run, fast as a reindeer or anyone."
The album info:
It is a Peter Pan Album named Rudolph the red nosed reindeer by the Peppermint Kandy Kids! The song list is as follows--
1-Rudoplh the red nosed reindeer
2-Rudolphs christmas party
3-Chris The Christmas Tree
4-Morris the Moose
5-Roly Poly the polar bear
6-Here Comes the Rhythm
7-All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth
8-South Pole calling the north pole (peter&penelope penguin)
9-A letter to santa
10- I hear Christmas

Also, "I found Morris the Moose on Kazaa - the online file-sharing website."

Hello! If anyone is interested in Morris the Moose email me and I will send it back to you -I think it's in the RealPlayer format. I sent it to Kevin yesterday and his ears are about to fall off from listening to it so much!!"

Hi Lee,

It seems you aren't the only one hunting Morris. There's a heap of others at this link at Chrismas Magazine. This reference to a record may help.

I remember this album from back when I was about 8 years old! Wow! I would like to find it again. Probably one of my few good memories of childhood and christmas.

Wow! I randomly picked this LP up today at Half Price Books because I thought the kids would enjoy different Christmas songs next year. It was only a dollar. I'll try my best to listen carefully to it and type out the lyrics if anyone is interested in having them. :-)

I'm Morris the Moose, Morris the Moose that's me,
I'm big and strong and I can run
Fast as a reindeer or anyone
But who is always left out of the fun?
Me, Morris the Moose.

When I was little I used to dream
Someday I'd be on Santa's team
Someday Santa would call and say
Morris I need you to lead my sleigh
But who never goes up, up and away?
Me, Morris the Moose.

I'm Morris the Moose, Morris the Moose that's me
Each Christmas eve I wait and hope
Santa will call me but I'm a dope
Cuz who's left behind to sit and mope?
Me, Morris the Moose.

Maybe my antlers look too big
and a moose on the loose
the folks don't dig
but I wouldn't hurt a fly
and that's true
and someday if Santa needs me to
who'll stand beside him
and guide him to you
Who? Me, Morris the Moose.
Who? Me, Morris the Moose.

Wow! This is great. My sister and I had this album when we were kids. I still have the album and want to transfer these unique songs to CD. My sister has even sung Morris the Moose for her friends and Roly Poly the Polar Bear. They all think she is nuts - "NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE". Now I can tell her to tell them to look online - they are real songs!!!
